Because your work brings you so much fulfillment on its own, and you have the ability to help others, asking for money can be hard. In an ideal world, you’d be sharing your gifts with the world for free. Right?
As a Soulprenuer, you’re motivated by the inner Joy and fulfillment that comes with doing your part in elevating the collective consciousness. Because your work brings you so much fulfillment on its own, and you have the ability to help others, asking for money can be hard. In an ideal world, you’d be sharing your gifts with the world for free. Right?
On top of that, money can bring up feelings of resistance for us. It can trigger a lot of old stories and family wounds. We get it. And we know that in order to move closer to abundance, we need to heal our Money mindset.
And at Lightspace, we believe not only that the world needs more people like you, but also more of you. Give yourself permission to utilize all of the tools at your disposal in order to maximize your impact, amplify your message and reach more people. However, striking a balance between profits and passion is one of the most difficult challenges anyone working with a higher purpose will face.
Although it may seem the source of all evil, money is merely a tool to fund your purpose and dreams — at least, that’s how we’re choosing to look at it. . So let’s be clear about something: earning profits is not inherently wrong. This is actually a money block.
If you are working hard, impacting lives and creating value, monetary compensation should follow. So don’t ever feel guilty about focusing some on profits, it is just a necessary piece of a larger picture and it’s necessary in order to build a sustainable business and keep sharing your gifts with the world.
Here are 4 fundamental reasons why profits are necessary to your purpose.
- The More You Earn, The Greater Your Impact: More money = more time + resources. More time + resources = More impact. More impact = helping more people resolve imbalances, find inner peace and discover their true self. The mathematics are really that simple. If you are truly aimed at elevating the collective consciousness then you will not let guilt deprive you of living out your dharma. Unfortunately, you don’t have unlimited time, attention or energy to give others. With such limitations, you need to work not only hard but also smart. This means setting up a business model that works so that you can not only find people who need your offering but also streamline your methods in a way that maximizes your value.
- Use it to Invest Yourself: In “The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success,” Deepak Chopra writes this: “Money is really a symbol of the life energy we exchange and the life energy we use as a result of the service we provide to the universe. Another word for money is currency, which also reflects the flowing nature of energy. The word currency comes from the Latin word currere which means to run or to flow. Therefore, if we stop the circulation of money if our only intention is to hold on to our money and hoard it since it is life energy, we will stop its circulation back into our lives as well. In order to keep that energy coming to us, we have to keep the energy circulating. Like a river, money must keep flowing, otherwise it begins to stagnate, to clog, to suffocate and strangle its very own life force. Circulation keeps it alive and vital.”
How does this apply to your business? it’s simple: in every seed, (or investment), there is the promise of thousands of forests. Earning money is not a problem so long as you continue to let it circulate by investing in yourself. This could mean hiring a team, paying for consulting advice, courses, seminars or other experiences that will help you grow. So long as your profits are not hoarded, you can use them for unseen energy flows into material manifestation. The more you earn, the more you can invest, the more you impact. This is how you keep the abundance of the universe circulating in your life.
- Renouncing Money Means You’re Still Attached To It: *mic drop* In his beautiful book “Awareness,” Antony De Mello bluntly states, “Anytime you renounce something, you are tied forever to the thing you renounce.”
If you are worried that money will corrupt you or feel that a truly spiritual person would not be concerned with it, that likely means, on some level, you are fighting it. And according to De Mello, “As long as you’re fighting it, you are giving it power. You give it as much power as you are using to fight it.”
Though it may seem as though you are ‘above it’, it’s more likely you’re still attached to it. Why? Because you still believe in it. If you didn’t, then rather than renouncing money as a corruptible tool of an unconscious system, you’d see through it. That’s right, you wouldn’t renounce it, you’d see through it. By truly seeing through it, you can earn freely without getting corrupted by it. Money has no power over you. It is just a means, not an end. A means that you can use it effectively so long as it works for you and you don’t work for it. So don’t obsess or worry about making money, whether it’s too much or too little.
- Growth is a Law of Nature, Embrace it: Everyone experiences birth, growth, success, good health, pleasure, and winning, but also loss, failure, sickness, old age, decay, pain and death. All parts of the cycle are necessary and connected. This applies to your body, your mind, your consciousness, and if you are a Soulpreneur, your business.
If you find that your outer purpose is flourishing, sink into it. Enjoy the ride because it is not going to last forever. Soon or later whatever you’re working on will reach its peak, you’ll expand in consciousness and your business aspirations will follow.. Such is the cycle of life.
Of course, you should embrace all parts of this cycle. Just as you should accept and appreciate when your time in the material world has peaked, you should also embrace the enthusiasm and energy that goes into its growth and flourishment. If not, you’ll be feeling guilty of nature’s own process. You may be here to do big things, ride the wave of your success and go as far as you can, just don’t attach.
